Mikhael Paskalev – I spy from André Chocron on Vimeo.
It’s a rainy Monday here in Texas. Much cause for celebration. So we’ll dance before we train. Squats, Push Press, and Snatch Grip deadlifts. Think your day could be this much fun?

Please note that this is NOT St. Urho who, by legend, ran out the grasshoppers from the vineyards of ancient Finland, thus saving the grapes. Since I like wine, I like St. Urho. This is one of my favorite pictures off Matt, competing in Lapland at the Iceman. So enjoy your pasties and wine and hug a Finnlander.

I’m always a little surprised when training in different gyms and people park themselves next to me and start staring. Or when I’m deadlifting and they stand right in front of me while I’m trying to pull. Learn your manners. If you must gawk, be discreet. If you want to know why someone is doing something a certain way, go ask. Don’t be an asshole and silently criticize when you really have no idea what their program is. If you see someone doing something completely redunkulous and moronic, go grab your camera and send it in. We love that stuff!

We were in Costa Mesa, California this past weekend for a Starting Strength Seminar and took advantage of some downtime Friday afternoon before we clocked in. We had just finished our meal at the Beach Pit BBQ and chilled a bit in the California sun. Getting a chance to relax on these seminar weekends is a treat. We ate very well in Newport Beach. Excellent goat cheese burgers at Crow Burger Kitchen (along with Flying Dog Raging Bitch beer); ribs at Rib Company in Newport Beach; and back to Crow Burger on Sunday night for another burger. We missed In-n-out this trip, we’ll make sure that doesn’t happen again.
