Friday Jams

There are days where we just need a little Johnny Cash. This, is one of those days. Johnny Cash, Ring of Fire.

It’s a big weekend, lots of Highland Games officially kick off the 2014 season and I want to wish all the ladies out in Arizona at Women’s World Championships far throws and many smiles. Some of the strongest in the world are getting in one more rest day before the World’s Strongest Man contest kicks off tomorrow in L.A. We’ll be keeping an eye on the “unofficial” updates while throwing at the Shammies tomorrow in Springfield. We’re hoping for big things from our favs, Loz and Big Z and will be cheering for our Minnesota boy, Dave Ostlund as he storms into World’s for his Strongman comeback!! Go Dave!! Go Loz!! I’m also wishing Loz’s wife to be, Liz, to have an amazing time on her first trip to ‘Merica! If someone doesn’t take her to In’N’Out on her stay, I will take it as a personal ‘merica fail on all of you. (Ya, drama much?)

Enjoy your weekend!

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.

Her 4 years of training and coaching under Mark Rippetoe has honed her coaching skills to be a top choice for you to reach your strength and conditioning goals. She is an active competitor in Weightlifting, receiving the Silver Medal in the 2016 World Master's Championship; is a Master's World Champion in Highland Games, and competes in Highlander Games. Juli will strongly encourage tosabarbell athletes to compete (and prepare you to do so.) However; tosabarbell is also for those who just wish to be stronger and go through life feeling better. Matt WanAt is a Professional Strongman who competes regularly with Strongman Champions League in Europe. He played a year of D1 football with Iowa before concentrating on his Chemical Engineering degree in Iowa City. He is a native of Wauwatosa and still remains a staunch supporter of Tosa East. Matt will host many Strongman Saturdays at tosabarbell which are sure to be followed by food. Lots of food. This blog will be a mixture of strength notes, coaching and nutrition tips, bacon delicacies, and a whole lot of fun.
