After a few days in Minnesota spoiling the Princess and picking out a new BWD, we’re back in time for Irish Fest. One of our weekly go to’s is McBobs and they count down to Irish Fest all year long. My only free time this weekend is tonight so hopefully we won’t get rained out.
In celebration, here’s an Irish commentary on a Sailing event at the London Olympics. Enjoy.
Growing up as a PK, there wasn’t a lot of cussing in the house. Unfortunately, that didn’t stick. Heh. When my dad would get frustrated with something, he’d say “Aw nuts!” You could tell how frustrated or upset he was based on the severity of the “nuts” and how loud it was said.
We had an ‘Awwwww nuts!’ this week at tosabarbell.
After gearing up for America’s Strongest Man scheduled for July in New York City; getting the fans in Brooklyn and NYC fired up to come cheer on Bigg, the contest got switched to Reno in late August. So Reno it is. Flights were changed, hotels rebooked and training continued. Friday afternoon, Bigg received an e-mail saying the contest was off. Again.
Awwwwww, NUTS! (Okay, I cussed but like I said, the non-cussing thing didn’t stick.) There were organizational issues through no fault of ASC and I can’t even imagine their frustration in all of this. But the worry was for my guy. He was stoked and ready for this one but due to prior commitments, the rescheduled date in September in Vegas won’t work.
And so it goes. Bigg still will be in Gibraltar at the end of the month and is working hard to kick some arse there. His Log Press continues to go up, today was a triple at 420#. The clean got away from him a bit and he’ll be working on that so he doesn’t get used up before the press. But he has specific goals and he’s working hard towards them. Stay tuned on that. Heeeee.
Impressive, eh? And a good F.U. to the “Awwwww nuts” moment that life tends to throw our way.
Afterwards, we had our usual post Log Press meal at Hamburger Mary’s. Though it’s always fun at HM, having a photo with Dear Ruthie was an extra treat!
So far, the British Weightlifting fans have proven themselves to be the Gold medal winners of Fan-dom. These guys took it to a whole new level. Well done I say.
Putting the Union Jack on a singlet and wearing them proudly shows their unique dedication to sport.
